About Me
Hello, my name is Jose Trejo and I am a licensed clinical social worker practicing in San Francisco, Ca where I was born, raised and continue to live. My parents were both born in El Salvador which afforded me the luxury of growing up in a Spanish speaking family (thus a bilingual therapist). While I started in the legal field it did not take long for me to find my true passion, therapy! In fact without knowing it the seeds were actually planted throughout childhood where I was the one many came to for advice, suggestions or just to vent, talk and get support. While my education earned me the degree and provided me the formal training, I also bring a great amount of my life experiences into my practice. Growing up in San Francisco provided me many experiences (some good and some not so good). Either way they taught me how to grow and growth is something I take great pride in as it relates to working with my clients. Education-wise I obtained my bachelor's degree in psychology from Notre Dame Univiersity (now Notre Dame de Namur University) and eventually my Master's degree in Social Work from San Jose State Univerity in 2007. I have been practicing ever since and can honestly say no day for me is "work" at all rather, my daily joy. Some look forward to that morning cup of coffee whereas I really look forward to seeing and working with my clients! Initially I worked with children and adolescents then transitioned to working with adults which is what I have done for the majority of my years now. While working as a generalist I eventually started to develop my clinical passions in doing sex therapy, working with relationships and general life stress and transitions. Life can be difficult but it also goes fast. I want you to live the life you want to live and live it with a blast.
